Newbie And Wondering....

I suffer from massive headaches that comes and goes, the problem is when it comes, it’s massive (all most debilitating and some times last for over a week – I am not kidding) Always on the right side and to both temple, between the eyes area somewhat and it kind of feels like a toothache (jaw front of ear area), but I have been down this road many times and my dentist swears all is well there. I saw neurologist years ago and he said it was migraines; he gave me migraine meds (that never worked) so I just have dealt with it over the years. Well they are becoming more frequent, more painful and lasting longer; I am struggling through a major one right now that oddly enough started Tuesday night at the concert. I notice when I laugh a lot or football game hollering, yelling (nothing major) with friends it almost always triggers one. Oh and some of the strongest pain meds do NOT even place a dent in the pain it. I mean nothing, I just want to lie down (darker the room the better) and place pressure on the areas it hurts.

Severe pain in my temple (in both more on the right side)

In fact, right now it hurts so bad I can hardly type. My eyes aches a well.

Well I was poking on the Internet today and found this site and somewhat sounds like this could be it. The electric shocks it talks about I have only experience a very few times though, mine is pretty much just solid steady pain for days or a week or so.

Thanks,

Hi Sorry to hear that you are living with the constant pain . But Glad you found here to Neurotalk. This is a great place for all kinds of support info and just to know your not alone.
You could have Atypical or maybe even Occipital Neuralgia . You need to read the stikcies at the top of room here and find as much info as you can. Also You might want to post the same thing in our Occipital Neuralgia forum Here is the link...

Maybe see another Neuro Doc and write down questions or info you find here that descibes things you are dealing with. Have you tryed a never block at all?
I send low pain wishes to you.
If I can help in some way let me know.
PEACE

I with BMW. I would also encourage you to see another neuro and get their opinion. Depending on whats going on, you could have different options of treating whatever it is.
Take care!

Thanks BMW, I went to the ER last night for some relief. The shot they gave me didn't touch the pain (Toradal). I am miserable today as well. Whether migraine or what ever it is, it's horrible and I took the day off.

Thanks,

Dan
