User Names

A while back there was a fun thread about vanity plates, and what they say about the owner/driver. I was thinking how for MONTHS I'll think a user name says or represents something, only to find out that I was waaaaaaay off base.

Most are fairly obvious, but I always thought "Finlady" referred to something about fins, like fish or scuba-diving maybe. Turns out it stands for "finance" (right?)

I've been trying to figure out Roger's forever...is it pronounced ex-is-led? Does the xi stand for eleven? Eleven sleds? All of a sudden this morning I looked at it and it said "exiled". So Roger, what DOES it say???

Mine is one of the obvious ones, but what are some other user names (yours or somebody else's) that are mispronounced, misrepresented, misunderstood?

Well, mine's pretty self-explanatory......http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f.../iluvcats3.gif

Herekitty,
How many Cats do you have? I have 5. One more and I'll be an official cat lady.

As to Kicker - well at a very young age I kicked my family dentist and he suggested a pediatric dentist for me. (at the end of the appointment, good patients got a cheap toy), I loved him! I got lots of cheap toys. The other dentist told my mom to never bring me back. I got to return at 16 to first guy and every dentist since tells me what a great patient I am. My family called me Kicker

And at the picnic, my neighbor asked me to show him how to restrain (we were taught this at my job), Him being taller than teens I was used to, well, I really didn't mean to knee him between the legs, Our restraint technique was taught to us, approved by DYFS (Divsion of Youth and Family Services) and caused no hurt. It was like a big hug from the back, criss-crossing arms. Kid's liked it so much (some never got hugged) they'd act out to get it. We had to learn a new restraint not so huggy. Our kids (students) were one step from residential and we held them so they could not hurt others or themselves.

some have asked me if my username is supposed to be saying I'm OKAY.

lol, not really.... I haven't been OKAY since, oh, about 1988.

:p

all it means is, my name's Kay, and I live in Cayo.

Cayo is a district (like a state or province) in the Central American country of Belize.

Belize is a tiny independent country, sandwiched between Guatemala and Mexico, is English-speaking, has under 300,000 people, and the whole country is about the size of Massachusetts.

Mine was never intended as a user name, it was just my an email address I chose and then decided to use as my user name for simplicity purposes.

I had no good ideas when I first started thinking about an email address, but as a joke I tried signing up for "hotfemale@hotmail.com", and got it! :p I couldn't believe someone hadn't thought of that already, but I had no intensions of using it either. Maybe it's worth something now though ... kinda' like some car tags or google web addresses are. :p

"Lady" identified my gender from the get-go, "express" identified that I like to say what I'm thinking, and "44" was my age at the time. I liked that it sounded a bit like a run-away train too. :D

I have used lady_express_44 EVERYWHERE, and refuse to post on a forum where I am not permitted to use it because it identifies my email address (or because I've been exiled from that site. ;) ). I have a pet peeve about people changing their user names, if they do it in order to conceal their "known" internet identity. You'd be surprised how many user names some people use, purely with the intent to harrass, intimidate or to bolster their own point of view on the forums.  I am who I am, where-ever I go . . . like it or lump it. :)

I have 2.....and that's all I can afford and/or handle!! Mine are totally spoiled and think they are human.

And truth be told.....I'd rather spend time with them than some of the people I've met in life! :p

A girlfriend back in college said I reminded her of Abbie Hoffman and started calling me Free. The nickname stuck thru school, military, and thru all these years. And I live in Houston. Hence, free in hou. Used to be freeinmia and before that freeintol.

dmp = darkmoonprincess

(was my first ever Internet handle, back in oh, 1996?)

It was also what I named my first character in my Online game I've played for 6+ years. :)

A friend shortened it to simply 'dmp' within the first year that I was playing that game, and now many of my Online friends call me "dmp" instead of my real name, Laura.

Then again I didn't reveal my real name to people for a long time Online either ;).
