Stupid homonyms

I don't know how many times in recent months I've looked back at something I've written and lo and behold, a sound-alike wrong word! For example, "near where he was last scene." Or "she has three groan children."

I don't know what part of my brain is broken to cause this, but it drives me nuts. Why can't I see it while I'm doing it? It's so obvious! Aaaaargh!

:o I do the same thing. Funny, the other day I was thumbing thru my journal (it is almost finished so I like to go back and reread what I wrote) I saw so many of those mistakes!

I'm guilty of doing this too.

"here" and "hear" are probably my worst.

You're not alone...I do it, too! I proofread my posts before I hit "submit" and it never fails.....I'll go back and read them again after I've posted and the most obvious, glaring typo pops out at me. I cannot figure it out. I guess I have selective vision.

I do it a lot too , most times I forget to edit so it looks like huh:yikes:

Yep, I use to be an A+ at spelling and grammar. The last few years, not so much.:( I could at one time type 100 wpm with zero errors. Now for whatever reason my finger will not hit the R key most of the time. It is the one letter I continually have to backup and correct. Drives me nuts!

I have the same problem. I find the mistakes after I have done I post. I am always spelling just as "jsut." I tell my students to always proofread. Now I find I need to take my own advice.
