Dr John..Posting pictures

Dr John..I was wondering if you could make a change in the current format for posting pictures..For example if the source images are from "My Documents"..then an image link appears to view the pictures, and the only way around that is to go to "Photobucket" to post images without a link..The Braintalk software is set up to accomodate this..It would be alot more user friendly

I can upload any attachment to a post, and it shows up, no matter where it's coming from on my computer.

Are you asking for the images to show up without clicking on the link? What about people who are on slow Internet connections, do we want to slow them down with large images showing up automatically??

John

Steve

if you want to upload an image direct from your computer you click on the lil paper clip icon and it will allow you to browse your computer and then upload

I had to try this -

well I still can't figure out how some can get the pictures to show.

OH OK it works with webshots too - just have to click on the picture a second time - then the posting options [IMG] will show for me. YEAH!

Jo
the images will only show if you have them hosted somewhere on the Internet (rather than just stored on your computer) and then use the imaging icon (lil yellow one with what looks loke a dot above a mountain, 5th from right in the bottom row) You then copy the URL of the hosted image into the lil box that shows upper left after you have clicked on the Image icon and voila! you have an image showing rather than attached

that is thoughtful

about the "slow loaders" consideration-- where I used to be! Some people still have dial-up if they live in rural areas.

We just got a modest speed DSL (not the really fast one) and it is sooooo much
better. (It was less than half in cost from our old Earthlink dialup!)

But you know too, the link thingy... does not work unless you are logged in.
That is a nice feature in the sense it affords some privacy on the net!

The other place shows one picture posted without a link, and if you put up
more than one, the others go into that link state, in one post, and you have to click on them.

You know , also with photobucket, all you need to do is put
on the link..and/or. Photobucket gives you that in a window, and all you need do
is copy/paste it--you don't even have to put the tags in, they do it for you.
The advantage to photobucket is that size and format may be different, than allowed here.

I have never used the link clip or mountain in the tools...I'll have to try those out! I just hit manage attachments, down below. Looks like it is the same thing.:o

Someone told me about photobucket but I already had a webshots account so I did more investigating there.{clicking buttons!!}

and it worked

1 Attachment(s)
Attachment 320

Easier than Photobucket
