celiac disease

i'm newly diagnosed with celiac disease as of the first of november. i've had terrible pain in my upper right side/ribs sometimes extending to my back since may, i've had several tests run with docs thinking gallbladder, pancreas, pleural effusion in right lung, kidney stones and i finally tested positive for antibodies to gluten. i've been on a gluten free diet since 11/7 but i've seen no relief of the pain. i'm taking pain meds every 2 hrs. does this pain sound familiar to anyone else and how long before i get better? i'm discouraged and don't see how celiac disease could cause this much pain. was wondering if anyone else could help me with this?! thank you

some people may

have sluggish bile. I have this occasionally, and it does not show up on tests typically.

There are 2 things you can try to improve this:
1) take the amino acid taurine, at least 1000mg/day.
Taurine helps move cholesterol out of the gall bladder.

2) a second thing is an herb called Yerba Mate. This tea is very popular in S.America and replaces coffee for many people there.
The green organic form is a choleretic, and is very effective.
I use it as the tea (I buy mine online from EcoTeas) and more recently as a more convenient capsule.
example:

Both of these work for me. The Yerba Mate is faster, and more effective. After about 3 mons with no more pain, etc, I stop using it until the next attack. I only need one capsule a day or one teabag a day. I found the capsules about 2 yrs after drinking the tea. Buy only GREEN form. The other forms of Yerba are smoked and less healthy for you. (smoking the herb during drying creates free radicals in the body when consumed.)

Some people with celiac also have other issues. One can be a fructose intolerance, so try to avoid any fructose in drinks/fruit for a couple of weeks and see if you feel better.

Also using acid blocking drugs may increase gas in the lower bowel which then rises and may cause gall bladder type pain as well. Trapped gas is very painful.
