couple of general questions

Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well. My wife is persting me to put up the tree for christmas so I made my excuses and dashed here instead :-P

I just have a couple of questions if you dont mind.

1. Do 'sufferers' of MG ALWAYS have eye symptoms? Or is it possible to have a generalised MG without them?
2. Does anybody here have a generalised myokymia? I ask this because, as you know from my previous posts, I am having generalised fasciculations. Or, what I thought were fasciculations. However, they are very rapid pulsations and my reading makes me wonder if they are infact myokymia instead. I couldnt find any info on the net about fasciculations and MG, but I did find info about myokymia and MG. So if anyone has any muscle twitching at all I'd love to hear from you. Mail me or reply on here its fine.

Eye symptoms are a predominant feature of MG. Either ptosis or blurry/double vision. I know of no one who has MG and has never suffered with one or the other, if not both.

Fasciculations are not an MG thing. However, some people (myself included) can have occasional periods of time where "benign fasciculations" are present. If it is a constant thing, again, not MG.

Hope this helps,

Missy

I agree with the Missy's first answer, ocular MG is the first stage of MG…
Now about fasciculations, I know that they can be the indication of both over- or under-dosage of Mestinon, so they may be coupled with MG or only in presence of Mestinon?
At the beginning, I had frequent fasciculations ( I was and still taking Mestinon), which disappeared after 2 or 3 months.
Maurice.
