Lyrica Users please share results

Hello everyone, New member here. Indianapolis, Indiana local COLD TODAY !
Have lived with chronic pain for many years. Neck surgery 3,4and 5 cervical disc now have titanium and cadaver bone. Help some for awhile. Pain returned. Found wonder drug Tramadol. Taken many years now is not enough as pain is worse. Doc added Lyrica... Oh My!!! My first day after am and pm doses I woke the next day feeling absolutely no pain !!! Feel little weird but I can focus better, type accurate, feel very calm inside...
I have heard many people suffer from side effects...Please share them with me. I have never in my life experienced any side effects from any of my meds. I am lucky.
Thanks, Indybizgal

Lyrica can cause some swelling of feet (edema) and weight gain (carb cravings)
Shortness of breath when active has been reported.
I put on 30 lbs that I can't seem to take off (was 225-now 255),
but its a compromise-the pain relief seems worth it.

Lyrica use

Switched to Lyrica from Gabapetin in April 2007 for burning feet. Have been varying dosage between 150mg to 600mg depending on pain. The lyrica pretty much does away with the burning. Nothing seems to help the numbness and odd feeling when walking. I have no side effects to speak of. I do alot of bicycle riding so my weight has not changed.
Recently started having burning in the back of my legs and buttocks when sitting. Lyrica does help but not as much as the burning feet.
Basically I would be burning up without Lyrica. I am grateful to have it.

Good Luck.
Jerry

Lyrica Rules

When I wake up, my feet don't feel very good. I pop a couple Lyrica, and Bingo....no burning. Numbness....yes. But, I couldn't survive without it.

I've just started taking Lyrica two weeks ago (changed from Neurontin). I can definately tell that I have less burning/pain with the Lyrica. My pain level is about a 1 or 2 down from 4s and 5s. However, my hands feel strange when taking it. I am noticing a bit of swellling and some stiffness in my hands. Other than that it's working well. Oddly enough, my doc took we off the neurontin becasue of weight gain. I'm reading in these threads that Lyrica can have the same effect as Neurontin!! Go figure...

I tried Lyrica about 18 months ago, it worked the same for me as neurontin, but I gained 30 lbs of flabby weight, the wrong kind! I had to make the switch back to neurontin and live with the burn as I can't titre up on the dose, it gives me horrible brain fog. I hope it works for you, takes a while to come up with the right "cocktail" of drugs to get relief.

neurontin

What dosage were You taking. Dr's vary in there upper limit.I will feel free to go to 4000 mgs when needed, maybe dr's advise will be best for You.
in any event best of luck.

Lyrica and memory problems

I do have to say, that with the taking of LYRICA, there is other side effects that aren't too thrilling. I have become terribly forgetful and that is disturbing. Also the weight gain and the craving of sweets is also problematic. But, the burning and aching that is eliminated, far outweighs these negative side effects.
