Super Tired For Months After Surgery....
This Has Been Going On For Like I'd Say At Least Four Months. I Have Been Diagnosed W/fibro. I Am Awaiting To See A W/c Work Comp Rheumotologist. This Should Be No More Fun. What Does Anyone Do To Stay Awake?

I think it's good you are seeing a rheumatologist, I know you've done this before, but I would continue to have your thyroid checked on a regular basis. I did, and after about 4 months of checking and me being achy and exhausted, it went kaput !! Hypothyroidism is common with TOS. Take Care Sweetie and rest when you need to! Just listen to your body!! (Hugs <3 <3 ) G ~:) |
Thanks Sweetie. Love You!!!

It sounds like you have cronic fatigue syndrome. I have it and I spent a year fighting it. I had this ideal that if I could take sleeping pills and get a good night sleep I'd not be sleeping what seemed like 24 hours a day. my doc said it didn't work that way. Desperation makes a person come up with some crazy ideals. LOL
CFS sometimes comes with the Fibro. The Rheumotolgist is the best one to treat Fibro if he's good. The one I saw was a joke. I called him the Fibroman because he seems to diagnose everyone with it. He isn't any good for helping anyone with it though. I could not stay awake. I am still that way at night while watching tv or reading a book. I make it through about 4 pages and I'm out and by 8 or 9 I'm falling out of the chair watching tv. It worries me because I am actually afraid of falling out of the chair or out of the bed when I'm trying to watch tv in bed. I couldn't find anything to help me with it. The Drs. just kept saying I would have to sleep it off. You might ask the Rheume if this is what you might have also. feel better soon. Ada |
Also- do not underestimate the effects of anestesia. Major surgery and the anestesia that comes with it can cloud your mind for a long time. I had a friend who had a major surgery (for a totally unrelated condition) but it took 6 months for the anestesia to wear off. He told me the only things that finally brought him out of the fog was when he started running again.
Even the short acting (like 20-30 minutes) anestesia I had for my botox injections left me cloudy for a few weeks... My OB gave me the name of a very good rheumatologist in the south bay...If I can find the name I will PM it to you. I was going to get a workup before doing something like surgery, but haven't ever done it. Johanna |
