Ingesting peppermint oil safely?
I may have asked this before but is ingesting peppermint oil safe?? I feel like it is, i mean a few drops in water isn't bad right?? or do u hafta mix it with other oils to be safe??
|
as long
as you dilute it safely, it doesn't matter what you dilute it with.
If you like peppermint and find it useful, there is a very nice tea made by Bigelow: http://www.bigelowtea.com/peppermint...-p-1-01039.htm I've used this tea for YEARS/decades! |
wow yeah, ive heard of that tea, i should get some of that. but not from that site, uhh $17.75??!! i think i can get it from a grocery store for like 4 bucks or something.

I wasn't suggesting
you buy it online. Only to show you what it looks like.
The online price is for 6 boxes. (probably for small business owners, or restaurants or people who live in remote areas with few stores). |
They sell that tea in Canada for under $3, so I'm sure you can find it at a very inexpensive cost. :)

I'd personally be very wary about ingesting Peppermint Essential Oil without talking to someone qualified first. I have read warnings about dangers of ingesting peppermint oil in certain instances.
NOTE: I'm going to have to sent my site with that information on it to a Mod. to make sure that I can post it. It is a commercial site so I'm not sure yet. I'll come back with the info. if I can. The tea is beautiful. I'd stick with the tea or better still grow some and make tea with it that way. |

I use a lot of different essential oils myself, but don't ingest them so I'm not too familiar with that method. I do know though that when I first started using them I used them pretty willy-nilly - here there and everywhere. I soon learned I was doing the wrong thing. I live not too far from where a lot of tea-tree oil is made. One time I dropped some essential oil on a base of a plastic lamp and you wouldn't believe it, but it melted a little hole in the plastic. true story. |
I've been away too long. I'm sure this site will be ok to post. I wrote to Mods but I figure I'll post it and if not ok I can then remove it.

suggestions..
Here is a site with other suggestions:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/d...eppermint.html alot depends on exactly what you buy, and how concentrated it is. I personally would do the tea. I think a commercial tea is the safest. (and easiest) |
