Hello

I thought it was time to introduce myself as I have spent many hours on this website getting to know you, and learning from you. The depth of knowledge and caring demonstrated by each team member here amazes me.
I have no real diagnosis, but some health concerns following a shortened course of the antibiotic cipro. I am a 50 something : ) teacher of preschoolers with special needs, and hope to continue teaching for several, no, many, more years. We have recently moved from Indiana to the true heaven of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, where the sun, air and mountains contribute to feeling truly healthy. My husband is somewhat alarmed and skeptical at the cost and use of supplements, so I'm depending on you all to help me win this battle! In advance, many, many thanks. JudyMoody

Hi, Judy!

I am really glad to meet you! I hope you like your heavenly new home in the Rockies. I've always wanted to visit there, but the closest I got was in the eastern half of Oklahoma when I was in the service. You sound like a very nice person, and I hope you do decide to jump into the pool with us! Was it the Cipro which caused you the problem? Because I've been through three rounds of that so far. Maybe I'll want to stay away in the future, though. Anyway, good luck and best wishes to you! I hope you like it here!:)

There is a great deal of information out there about the possible toxic effects of the black boxed drug Cipro. I would encourage you to educate yourself about this drug before using it again. There are some very informative posts in the peripheral neuropathy site that you might want to visit. Personally, I will never take the stuff again, unless I am exposed to anthrax. My experience with this drug has been both negative and positive. Negative because of some side effects that fortunately seem to lessen each day, and positively because I will never again ingest a drug that is new to me until I can research possible toxicities. judy
