Missed Work Today- Yuck
 

I had to miss work today. Phooey! I did go in yesterday for a couple hours as they "snagged" me when I stopped in to check on my schedule. I got some snail mail in the last few days that said to be at the FIA office at 9:15 a.m. So I told work yesterday I might be a bit late to work (10 a.m.) today. What happens? I get to FIA at 8:45.... And FINALLY am seen at about 10:10!! My appointment lasted all of FIVE MINUTES, but because they didn't TELL her I was there (and I went up and ASKED "did you tell her I was here?" AFTER I already had gone up and signed in) she didn't come and get me until later!! She thought I wasn't even coming! About 9:45 I realized I wouldn't be on time to work so I called and talked to the manager saying I'd be a bit late because they hadn't seen me yet. She said "Call when you're leaving". So I did and that was less than half an hour later and they said they didn't need me to come in!! I would've been about half an hour late. So I lose 3 1/2 hours of work today. Ugh. There must be something else I can do this afternoon. Let me tell you- sitting in the waiting room of the FIA office for an hour and a half (nearly) is not my idea of a day at Disneyland. At least, my actual interview there went very well. I had all the papers she needed and she'll call. (That's why it only took 5 minutes!)

I ended up just taking a nap and then getting the kids from school. Nathan had an audition for the play and so I sat in the hallway with the other two for an hour and 15 minutes playing with a matchbox car and reading Beatrix Potter books. :) Now they've had dinner.

FIA stands for Family Independence Agency (pka: "Welfare") and snail mail is regular mail. lol (Compared to email, that is.)
