Very cool live webcam

and very calming, too. It's a live webcam of a watering hold in Africa. So far I've seen a bunch of baboons, but friends have seen herds of deer, rhino's wildebeasts, etc....

I make turn the sound on, and you hear the sound of birds and it's very calming. Make it full screen and walk away. You can hear an animal coming, and the camera will automatically zoom in on them here and there as it's motion sensitive. Very very calming and cool....

I'm TOTALLY addicted:

Oh No

Lisa,

I was watching this about an hour ago and everything was great and then all of a sudden it was like something hit the camera and now its messed up.

Maybe some big animal knocked the camera over. Ha!

Peggy

P.S. What's really funny is I have a parakeet in the same room as my computer and he justs goes crazy at those birds chirping. he chirps back and sings right along with them.

This is one of the coolest things I've seen the internet used for, Lisa. Many thanks!!

Seems to be offline right now... but it was chirping up a storm last night. Yes Peg, we saw the cam get knocked over too... then some weird ID numbers were on screen for awhile... now it's offline.

Hope it comes back soon!

I'ts back this morning

was a really COOL huge elk on this a.m. .... then I saw some awesome birds, and a turtle...and on Friday there was some kind of music...like a tribal kind of music...you could hear the beating drums, the singing,e tc. Was really awesome.

Glad you guys like it. I'm enjoying he heck out of it

question

Are you seeing more when it is daytime there or night?

Peggy

LisaM 11-20-2006 11:11 AM

I can really only look at it when I'm at work....and that means the only time I can watch it, it's daylight for about 2 hours or so...and the rest of the time it's night (I think...it does have that light that makes nighttime LOOK like daylight, so it's hard to tell sometimes). Friends of mine are seeing rhino's and such around 7pm our time and I'm seeing a lot of deer, elk and baboon around now...which is daylight there. So..it varies I guess. I just leave it running in the background, and when I "hear something coming" I click over to it. You can usually hear something snorting, or something shuffling thru the grass, or the birds get all weird.
