Well, I didn't after more than 40 years of smoking. Oh the cravings would set when I was in a situation where I had always smoked. Not smoking in public buildings will help everyone taper off. To get through those times, I thought about the plethora of reasons for quitting: lung cancer is a terrible way to go; orofacial cancer is worse; desire not to put burn marks in the carpet of the house I bought, like I had with all those apartments; MOUTH WRINKLES. And I thought of something helpful that I had read: cravings only last a few minutes, then you move on to something else. billie
