Lamictal

Hi

Has anyone tried lamictal for bipolar 2. I don't have RX insurance and even the generic is 300/mo. I would appreciate hearing your experiences.

Ooops

Forgot to mention I haven't done well on other seizure meds. Depakote, nuerontin, tegretol. Caused more depression

Welcome,
It's a quiet board for the weekend.
I don't have an experience with Lamictal, but someone here will come by at some point.
Is it really $300 a month for the generic!?

Lots of the meds they give us slow us down and make us depressed -- that's my experience anyway. The psychiatrists seem much more interested in treating the mania than the depression and they frankly seem to have better meds to do this.

My cousin has bipolar 2 and loves lamictal. It just makes her tired so she takes it at bedtime. I am on it but I have bipolar 1 only. I am loving what it has done for me however.

Hi, I have no real experience with lamictal for bipolar.

But I do for epilepsy. And my son has anxiety too. He also
needs seroquel for the anxiety and hallucinations.

But the lamictal did at one point help him with taking the edge
off his depression. He now doesn't have the depression side
to him. But the depression was present when we saw lots more
seizures in a day, or week.

So its hard to say if it was because of the lamictal or the lowering
of the seizures. But I personally think its a combination of things.
