You know someone has a doxie when...

YOU KNOW SOMEONE HAS A DOXIE WHEN...

1) The bed has sausage shaped lumps under the covers

2) When you come home after being gone only minutes & you're greeted
as if you were gone for ten years

3) Footstools are strategically arranged around the beds and furniture.

4) The house is decorated with Doxie items.

5) The owner is decorated with Doxie items.

6) After the doorbell rings, you can't hear a thing for 10 minutes.

7) Doxie "nose art" is proudly displayed on all windows.

8) All socks, undies and shoes have holes in them.

9) All squeak toys , no longer have the ability to squeak.

10) Doors to many rooms have to remain closed.

11) The owners bed never remains made.

12) You find dogs instead of clothes in the laundry basket.

13) You notice small fox holes in the yard.

14) All wastebaskets are elevated at least 3 feet from the floor.

15) When you get home, you're greeted with chewed toilet paper,
tissues, etc. (Hence see #10)

16) The owner has no food, but the dog has plenty of Premium food.

17) A cupboard is full of tiny dog clothes, before you realize that
doxies would rather be nudists. -- LOL This would be Dottie!

18) The owner is always talking about getting a Super king sized bed.

19) The living room looks like it's covered in snow, due to the
batting from all the stuffed animal toys.

20) The doxie gets kisses before the owners significant other. - And this would be Pat! :D

21) The owner runs around looking for a sitter if she'll be gone more
than a couple of hours.

22) The doxie gets more Christmas presents than the human kids.

23) The grass is mowed Very short.

24) The computer owners "favorites" are all doxie related.

25) There's always plenty of toilet paper to pick up poops.

26) The growing chart on the wall is horizontal, not vertical.

(ROFL, #17 made me think of Dottie.) :D

Now a proud owner of 2 doxies-don't know if I want anymore than that. I recognized the majority of those characteristics in myself when I read them. As for #17, it took my black and tan a week to get out of her last shirt I got her, she wears them seasonally when her belly breaks out. I call her my little Houdini. My son once complained that I had a picture of a doxie in my bedroom and not his picture #4 and I have 2 sets of steps by my couches in my living room istead of footstools and I can definitely identify with #20. Meeting Dotte after the holdays, you gotta love a Doxie owner.

Hugs and Doxie kisses,

Pat

((Pat)) LOL yes, I realize several of the above as well. And you should see the inside windows on my car! LOL!

I'm so excited that you are going to see Dottie! 2 very lucky ladies to meet!

Say, could you buy chance take a photo of those steps you have? My dad made me a set and they are just way too much for Bruna. Too steep I think? He also made me a ramp for my bed but lordy, it takes up half my room.

Oh, and I haven't dressed Bruna in any clothes, though I do eye them often in the stores. When I adopted her, HUA sent her home in a really nice sweater. I posted about it once. It's at this link ...
.

The lady at our local animal feed store said she knows doxie owners who buy baby sweaters and such for their doxies because they fit over their belly better.

I also met a lady at the vet whose doxie had the most beautiful sleeved sweater on! She said she bought some sweaters from Goodwill and made the sweaters for her furbaby.

That sweater is adorable. I wish I could do stuff like that. I used to crochet long ago, but I wasn't very good at following a pattern. I just made the few things that someone showed me how to do.

It is hard trying to find shirts that cover Dixie's belly and that don't have long sleeves. She has to wear them in the house because she scratches if breaks out in a rash. I never bought her a sweater because it would be too warm in the house.

Will send pictures of the steps tonight when my husband gets home. I've never sent pictures before.

Okay, I'm new at this. Let me know if you can't see the picture. This is a link to the steps I got.

Doody

You really need to get Ms Bruna some clothes.......every little girl likes to dress up!!! (except Mya!)

Im surprised she doesn't have warm clothes given the climate you live in. Max wears sweaeters here in Florida when it gets chilly.....he is a big woosy when it gets cold!!!
