OMG I feel awful today!

I woke up at 4:41 when Jackie got up and would not go back to bed until Jack got up and put him back in bed, I had a horrific migraine! I was fine wh en I went to bed but I knew I would be throwing up this morning at some point due to the migraine. I feel so sick! I did end up throwing up twice this morning w hen I got up at 7 am. So no champagne for me tonight! What a bummer! I was looking forward to it too, but not with how I feel today. I hope it gets better after eating, I skipped meds until about ten AM because I was still queasy. I put a pizza in and will be splitting it with Jackie ina bit, hopefully I'll feel better, but I still have the light sensitivity right now. :p And my stomach hurts. Ugh what a way to start the new year eh? :(

Yes, I do have imitrex, but I didn't take one for it today because I knew I'd end up puking it up. And usually the pain goes away after the vomiting spells lets up, it's weird its almost like instant relief once the tension of vomitting lets up. And I don't want to waste a $20 pill on light sensitivity only, if it comes back I am definitely taking one though. I feel better after eating, but my stomach still hurts. :(

OH NO.....a migraine.......dark room, cold clothe, medicine, usually once you vomit, the headache subsides and goes away, but it the worst pain, and it only effects one side of the face, well mine anyway.

Take care and as the days goes on it will pass.

Do you have any idea what trigger's yours?

I know that Imitrex is expensive, there might be a new one on the market, I thought I saw an ad, check with your MD.

Take care.....Nikko:hug:

I know, it was awful! I felt bad all day and then just before dinner I got better somehow. I hope they do have a cheaper migraine med available soon, imitrex is just so expensive I hate to use it unless I really have a bad migraine. And as far as they go this one was only about a 7 on the scale where 10 is take me to the hospital. I feel pretty good now, but I know I could wake up sick again...Happy New year's! :D

Good to hear you are feeling better. I have Imitrex too, but I also have Furinol, but the generic name BUTALBITAL/APAP/CAFFEINE TABS 1 EVERY 4 TO 6 HOURS FOR HEAD PAIN.

THEY DO WORK FOR REAL BAD HEADACHES, NOT SURE ABOUT MIGRAINES, THEY MAKE ME SLEEP A BIT, THEN THE HEADACHE IS GONE.

Just another option, but I know I saw an ad for another migraine med, but I can't remember the name of it. I must be losing it.

Hugs, Nikko:hug:

Just in the last week there is a generic out for imitrex. I'm sorry I don't know the name off the top of my head. But I know that the next refill I'll be
getting the generic probably.

Also there are about 6 or 7 other medicines for migraines but they all
work differently. So its just according to which one works for you.

Pam, I hope you don't get any more headaches like that again. I use to get them that bad when I worked but not anymore.

Thanks everyone, I will look into this generic that just came out, I surely can't afford another brand name copay at the moment. I feel better, I just am anxious about life. Having Jackie home is hard, but only a few more days and he goes back to school. :)
