outgas - how to prepare a new book for reading?

Ok, a very basic question. I just found out I am allergic to formaldehyde and phenols. Now I know why I am fatigued when I read new books. A minor issue compared to most of the problems I've read about with MCS, but I want to cut my exposure and not make the problem any worse.

How do you prepare your new books so you can read them in comfort/safety?

leave them outside? for how long?

Thank you

Not sure about outgassing, but I recently read that you can put the book inside a ziploc bag or cover it with other plastic or glass. I know there are reading boxes out there, but not sure where to get one. You could make your own. Haven't tried any of these things. Most of the time I can get away with wearing one of those "I Can Breathe Maks" with the carbon filter.
