Dental surgery - yuck
 

I have an abscess in my gum and am having it removed tomorrow. According to how much it has invaded the tissue he might have to do a bone graft. I guess I won't be eating my favorite meal at Hacienda tomorrow night. I'll just sit there and eat cheese soup which I do love.

I hope you feel well enough to eat the cheese soup. (that sounds kind of yummy)

Last time I had dental work (3 amalgam fillings that were going bad got replaced with nice pretty white composites) I didnt feel like eating for a day or two...and the MS trolls were apparently angered by the dentist poking around.

I'll send you some peanut brittle!! :D

Well I'm still alive! He used enough local anesthetic he could have done brain surgery and I never would have known. Afterwards he put this stupid rubber type packing over it to protect everything while it heals. It's kind of like we all did when we were kids. After all the flavor is out of your bubble gum you make your bubble gum as long as you can make it and put it up on your gum to see how far it can stretch. So I now have this rubber dressing on my gum on the roof of my mouth and by my cheek. He ordered Motrin 800 mg or Lortab 7.5 for pain. I tried the Motrin first but it's not going to work.

I did enjoy the cheese soup but I usually use it to dip my tostitos in. So no tostitos:( I had to eat those as little tiny pieces. I have an appointment next Tuesday to take this rubber thing out and see how it looks.

It could have been a lot worse. When he first saw me in the fall he told me that the whole thing might be rotten and he would have to remove it all and put in a cadaver bone graft!!!!!

I just had a root canal done a few weeks ago and he also had to cut
some of the gum to make sure there was enough tooth to put a cap on
That was bad enoug, what you went through "NO THANKS"

I never had trouble with my teeth like I have had in the past 2 yrs.
I don"t know if ms and all the different meds that I am taking has a part
in this.

I go every 6 months for a cleaning and check-up. The dentist I had
in NJ was confused about it now I have another who just did this procedure
here in KY. After that is all done he said he wants to really give me a
checkup of my gums and the bones of the mouth.

"Ooooooooooooo I can't wait.

Last summer I noticed a pimple like thing on my gum and I already knew the gum was hurting quite a bit. Well I am quite the procrastinator and put off seeing my dentinst until my regular teeth cleaning session. The hygeinist saw this, brought the dentist in and they took pictures. So that's how I got sent to this specialist.

I will be so glad to get this rubbery dressing off my teethe. Today we went to Culvers for a hamburger and I had to cut my hamburger in little peices so I could take little bites. I am managing to eat my Christmas candy and peanuts. I just eat on my right side and rinse frequently!
