Feels like the flu
I'm running a fever, weak, achy, headach to kill, head cold. I haven't had the flu in ages but it sure feels like I have it now.

I'm sorry, Barbara.
Do you have a dr you can go to? I think it is good to see a dr so that he/she gets a base line and gets a good picture of you starting out. Also, they might give you meds --especially if you have other risk factors. In the meantime, get lots of sleep, drink fluids, and monitor the fever (last year I had a fever that was high and I prob should have gone to ER but I waited it out like an idiot.) Take care of yourself. Limit stress. Can you stay home for a few days and work on recovering? Mari ETA: If you get to the ER within the first day or two of the flu, some of the anti-flu meds are effective. |
Thank you Mari.
I called the doctor and there is little that can be done for the flu but to just ride it out. My head hurt so bad today that I threw up. I'm taking over the counter meds. My next door neighbor is picking me up some things from the store while she is out. She's been gone a long time so I getting anxious for her to get back with the food. barbara |
It's good that you called the doctor.
I hope that you start feeling better soon. M. |
Thank you Mari,
I felt good enought today to walk to the mail box and to go see a nieghbor who also has the flu. As soon as she lit up a cigarette though I left. I can't understand why people do such things knowing I've got lung problems and being sick on top of my asthma. Barbara |
sorry that you have been ihope you are better soon!

Barb
I am sorry that you are sick. And I totally agree about people smoking when they realize you are sick and have asthma. But then I guess it was her place. I've been fortunate that my Daughter in law like has been very polite and wont smoke unless she ask me if its okay. And I wont say yes unless I know I can handle the smoke. Even on her front porch. She doesn't smoke in her house. Donna |
Thank you Beth and Donna.
Beth I am starting to feel better tonight. Donna, I went back to the same friend's house and she said she wouldn't smoke while I was there. The thing that gets me around where I live though is that most people will put them smoking before me. In other words, if they can't smoke around me they won't be around me. Barbara |
Dear Barbara,
Most people are selfish. When I meet someone generous, they make a big impact on my day and even my life. M. |
Yea, me too Mari.
I feel so much better today but still have a trace of being ill. I'm thinking about going out for something to eat. barbara |
