Postcards to a 2nd grade class

Hi Forum friends
I have a friend that is a teacher and received poor response from the kiddos families to request postcards or a picture of their area as out of town or country relatives family and friends.

I was wondering if anyone is interested I would provide you the address and teachers class name and really provide the children a geography lesson?

PM me as I am not sure the forum allows public info to be displayed.
Thanks in advance of anyone that helps.

Moderators if it is OK to post the address and then in 10 days you could remove it????

Moderators this is the informational letter provided from the school class;
If this can not be posted just delete the post. Delete in in ten days anyway.

Dear Family and Friends,

We are writing to you from our classroom at Poplar Road Elementary School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. We have just finished reading the story “Dear Mr. Blueberry” by Simon James. In this story, the main character, Emily, gets lots of postcards. We thought that getting a lot of mail sounded like fun!

So we are inviting you to help us with a special pen pal project. Will you send us a picture postcard of the place where you live? We will anxiously await your card and message so that your student can share it with the class and put it up on our bulletin board. We want to find out how many of you live right here in our city, in our state, in other states, and even in other countries! You will be part of our graph as we record where our friends and families live.

Please send us a picture postcard (or send us a picture with a letter) telling us about the place where you live. Do you live in a city or on a farm? What is the land and weather like there? What do you do for fun? We can hardly wait for the mail to come! Please send your card to the following address:
Mrs. H’s Second Grade
2925 Poplar Road
Sharpsburg, Georgia 30277

Thanks for being part of our project. We can hardly wait to hear from you!

Sincerely yours,

Mrs. H

I did it!

I wrote a short letter and inserted a few pictures of where we live and some of our critters. I'll mail it out tomorrow.

Sharpsburg is just a couple of hours from where I live. This is so nice of you to help a class learn more about geography.

That would be great,
These kids will be thrilled!
I have mine ready to go, I put in pics of the mountains, lake and now the heavy snow.

There is another Informational site doing it too.
I will update when I get news that the cards are coming in.

Dear DiMarie,

Is there a time limit for them receiving the cards?

I won't be able to send anything to anyone for at least a week. I was really wanting to get to a post office before now to send mail to some friends, but have not been able to do that unfortunately.

I would love to send something to the children in this class from where I am in Australia as there would be a lot of interest I'm sure. :)

Please let me know if there's a time limit to send.

I'll do my very best to get something out asap.

Hi Laura,
That would be fine, I am sure it is intened to be a long term project. I was a bit leary that the forum may get tired of the request.

When you get a chance go for it!
Lots of happy faces looking forever for mail I am sure.
Di
