Question for All

Hello Everyone,

I need to know if anyone has tried this item before. It has been recommended to me.

I believe it would be great for my posture, which is alot of my TOS issues but, I do not think I could do the exercises.

I haven't tried it, but I think I could use that now. I couldn't a year or so ago, for a long time. That would put stress on the ball of my shoulder and would have been intolerable. Not even sure I could tolerate that now. I use Kinesio Tape for posture and stuff. There's some interesting threads going on about it. It helps me.

If you try that device, let us know if it's tolerable. :)

I think I saw that site before..
the videos look familiar.

To tell the truth I have some doubts about the design and if it would be comfortable or cause pressure points in the armpit or over the collar bone.
Possibly may cause blood flow in the arm pit area to stop too..

it's almost something you could try with a stretchy band yourself if you have one long enough [most PT places have those for sale].

I just have my doubts and I think it is over priced for what it is.

If they have an easy return & refund policy then it might be worth trying . As long as you can get your money back if it doesn't work for you.

It may be aimed more for "normal " healthy folks than ones with TOS or similar conditions.

good question Peg :)
I would say this is not for me at this point in my injury.
But I don't doubt its effectivness for normal people that need to improve the posture.
Since you are concerned about your ability to do the exercises, could you ask a Physical Therapist about this?

I don't believe I could ever do the exercises they show using the bands. Any PT I have gone to has wanted me to use those and it gives me major flare ups. NO resitances bands. It's why I don't go to PT anymore.

I was looking more at just wearing a few minutes a day to help open up the chest. My posture stinks and I know its alot to blame for my TOS.

I have a friend that has one. Her chiopractor recommended it. She has buldging discs.

Yeah, it's probably for other people.

I use this BackMagic adjustable stretching device $24.95. It opens up my pecs. I do some exercises with my arms, stretches while I'm laying on it. I've got the URL saved on a page I done "51 Tips for Tosers" if you can find that.

You might need to look for a PT person that does myofascial release and
E-Stim. There are differences in therapist and techniques. If you've got insurance, find a therapist that helps your conditions.

Yoga also helps posture, even if you can't do it all, work on a few poses/stretches that helps posture.

I also used Kinesio Tape of posture.

Hope you find some relief some way.

Hi Peg O'my heart!
I would use a nylon back pack with a can of cambells soup in it and it would work the same. Then there is no expense if it flares.

How is dh, has he found something else?
Hugs and love

I spent alot of money try to improve my posture but only two things really helped. Biofeedback to train me how the mucsles felt when they were relaxed. It took me 4 biofeedback trainers before I found one that helped me.

the other thing that helped was having PT's train me how to activate the muscles involved in good posture as I could no longer voluntarily active them. One muscle was the lougus colli and the other was a muscle close to the spine in the mid to low back that helps bring down the shoulder blade so the muscles in the upper shoulder and neck can relax. they also gave me strengthening exercise I could actually do without flaring.

Can you detail which exercises these were? And which muscle was referenced in the latter exercise,
Thanks
