My MP story

Hey there. Almost a year ago I was diagnosed with MP. Although my condition seems to be a little different ( and less severe) than others.I'd still like some help if at all possible. I dont get any itching or burning at all. I get sudden, sharp/stabbing like pain around my left hip area. Each episode lasts around 30 seconds and then goes away. Its completley random and sometimes will go away for 5-6 MONTHS only to return one day out of no where and I will get the episodes maybe 2-3 times a day for a week or so and then it will go away again. I am not an athlete, I am in no way obese and I don't wear tight clothes. It doesnt seem to matter about sleeping positions, how much I walk/sit etc . I was wondering what other things cause this condition? I have trying to think of other daily routines I do that may be causing it, and was wondering if driving a car with a standard transmission would at all irritate the nerve?? Also I have heard of people buying more supportive shoes? I wear converse shoes almost everyday and they offer no support really at all.
Any help would be appreciated, MP can make you very miserable even when there is no pain involved!

Sometimes our condition is caused by spinal stenosis.

wouldn't that cause my symptoms to be more consistant? I'm having a hard time figuring out what could make it come and go every 6 months or so.
