Can You Help Me?

Hi! I found this when searching for ET information, as I have a relative with ET. We are searching for some large handled silverware and specially designed plates for people with ET so as to make eating easier for this person. If anyone could be of any help that would be great!! Thanks

Hi milkyway

I cant help with your questions re ET, but did just want to welcome you to NeuroTalk:)

It is quiet here at present because of the Thanksgiving holidays, but hopefully there will be folks checking in soon who can be of help to you

I would suggest posting again over on the Parkinson's Disease Forum as the people there might be able to give you some suggestions for the utensils and other items. Other thing would be to talk with an Occupational Therapist. They would also know of resources for such items I would think. You can also find suitable utensils on many health aide sites.

all the best,
Lara

hey

depending where you live you could get them made by a silver smith? I know we have them in the UK where they can make things specially for you - we have a blacksmith in the village I live in and he has made many pieces of my medical equipment so that it fits in with the house style... (so lots of cursive metal!!!, scrolled handrails/ ramp attachments etc!

hope this helps

Wow! Thanks for all the help! I don't know of any blacksmiths in my area, but I will look around. I'm also going to check out some health websites, can anyone recommend a good website where I can find things like this silverware? Thanks so much!
