Who will want back pay now that WC issued a check?
 

Hmmmm. Here's my scenario:

• I stopped receiving WC pay when I was determined Permanent and Stationary (P&S) in February 07.
• I have been receiving State Disability along with Long Term Disability (I'm in California).
• I had a third party Qualified Medical Examination in Sept 07 and that doctor (also) declared me P&S.
• WC decided to issue a back permanent disability payment from 2/07- 9/07 (same rate I had been receiving but this one was on big check).

My questions now, for those of you that have been in this boat, is:
I owe the State back pay right?
Do I owe my LTD too? (or am I right thinking that LTD only collects back pay if you receive Social Security Disablity?..)

I talked to a fellow at SDI today and he says SDI first asks WC to pay them back. He said if WC wrote me a big check it might include in the letter that a portion of that money would need to go to SDI- so he suggested I make copies and send it into him while they are waiting to hear back from my WC. Does that ring a bell with anyone? :confused:
