I won something twice in 2 months!

This morning the local radio station was giving away two $20 certificates for cholesterol screenings to the 5th and 6th callers.

It was hard to get through, but when I finally did I was the 3rd caller. :confused: So I kept trying and was a winnah!!! :grin:


In December I went into NAPA and bought new windshield wipers. I entered a contest while I was there and later got the phone call saying I had won a DashMat for my car!

Guess I'll have to buy a New car, cause my Old one already has a DashMat!!! :D

So, has anyone else ever been lucky?

while I was at grad school in London I went into a store to buy batteries for my radio

guy hands me a ticket and says please enter your info and you will be registered for the promotional giveaway of state of the art Sony stereo stack system built into a wheeled case

I scribble the stuff down and leave...........

few weeks later there is a knock at the door and I open to be greeted by a flash of a camera and a bunch of guys saying "congratulations" and they unload the flashy stereo set from the van....

I don't win much ... but, I don't fill out stuff either!! :p

here's a handy hint for those of you that do::

keep a page of peel-off labels in your purse or wallet or glove compartment ... then all you'd have to add is your phone number ...

we get tons of labels from PVA, DVA, garden, Arbor Day ... easter seals -etc ... here's a good place to use them up at!

Wow, good for you winners out there!

Apart from a few $2 wins on those 'scratch-its', I think the only thing I've ever won in my entire life was a tea cup and saucer for winning an egg and spoon race when I was around aged 6 and a Brownie (junior) in the Girl Guides lol. Sheesh, long time ago that!

I think I don't win things, because I never enter anything. :Doh:

well, except for this one time, about 15 years ago... I was playing a quarter machine in Tahoe (while waiting for the Moody Blues concert), and won a $75 jackpot...

I snatched up my winnings quickly and left for the show, and never gambled again!

I am happy for you lucky ducks:wink:,,, but... sadly, I am not one of them!:p

I've had a few lucky breaks over the years!

I entered,and won, a competition in our local newspaper for tickets to an open air concert. The artists were those of my youth, and if you see this Lara... you may know of some of them...... Col Joy, Little Patti, Sandi Scott and lots more.

I was enthused when I won those tickets and entered another competition in the same newspaper a few weeks later, and won that too. This time it was for a pair of swimmers...rather expensive ones that I couldn't normally afford!

I've won a few jackpots over the years of $1200 or $1500, but the biggest win I've ever had is when I once played a poker machine with my darling aunt, and we pulled up the jackpot of over just over $14,000 .

I've never won anything as big since, but I guess I can always hope.

I won a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic last year for 5 days, 4 nights, all inclusive.:yahoo: Our local radio station gives a trip away every day. I've been trying for the last 3 years and finally they called my name.

Other than that, I won a jar of peanut butter once at the supermarket :o
