? on making an oval picture

My Mom wants my help on making this poem for her. I have done OK with my word processor on doing the poem. But I have this picture she wants me to include of her with the poem. I have some pictures of her in my pic files and I can insert it but she wants it oval. Any ideas how I can make it oval?

hi doydie

have you tried using the paint program? cutting out the shape you want?

if you felt comfortable posting her picture, i'm sure one of us could do it and repost it for you.

I could use the paint feature and put her picture in it?

Well this is how I did it. I found an oval cut out on one of my picture frames, put it over Mom's picture, traced it and then cut her picture out. The poem that I had so neatly done and centered so nice, that my Mom wanted off centered so she could have her oval picture to the side was my problem child. So I used my space bar to off set a couple of the lines and printed that off. Then I taped Moms picture on and scanned it in. Then I simply printed it off.

I kind of did it the back door way but I couldn't understand any of the programs that you all recommended. Thanks guys. I did find out a lot of things on my computer that I didn't know about. And I also found out that if you can't do something one way, there probably is another way if you just put your mind to it.

I'm proud of you, Doydie. You combined the old fashion way with the new fangled way and you succeeded. :D

I hope it pleases your Mom. I don't want to read about her untimely demise, in the papers. :D

If you wish, I'd love to see your work.
