Hello from PA, new to MG

Hi everyone,

My name is Kelly, and last week, while in vacation in California, my eyelids went droopy. A very smart doctor put that together with my history of Pregnancy Thyroiditis, and after many tests, was able to confirm that I have myasthenia gravis.

I belong to another forum, one for t-shirt garment decorating. I know how wonderful forums can be for just talking to others, helping out, learning and making friends who understand where you are and where you are coming from.

So I set out to look around for a community with others who are dealing with similar issues. I saw this site was recommended on another site for MG, so here I am.

Nice to meet you all, I hope everyone is having a relatively nice, peaceful day. I am still in the very scared stages myself, as it is all new.

Talk to you soon,
Best regards,
Kelly =)

Hi Kelly

a big welcome to the forum. I notice you've already posted in the mg site. Its a great place to ask questions, talk, and get support.

I've had mg for 6 years, and still like to come here, to get support and also help people like you, who have just been diagnosed.

I can undertand you being scared, its a pretty scarey disease.
take care
redtail

Thanks for the welcome, redtail. I just saw your post in the other thread, too. Thanks for that, too.

Sorry to you, and everyone really, that comes down with something. I have found myself praying prayers of thanks for folks like you who have gone down this path before me - because now there is medicine and treatments for it.

I won't take too much of your time, I just wanted to say thank you for the welcome and post in the MG section, and thanks for hanging around places like this for when us newbies show up.

Have a great night. Best regards, Kelly =)

Welcome to Neuro talk, Kelly. Are you a dog lover???

(If not, don't admit it to me! LOL)

Thanks so much for the very warm welcome. :) I just popped in for a moment, and am really happy to see some notes here. Sometimes forums are really quite, and you don't know until you start posting if they are active or not.

GmaSue, I got the note about chat. Thanks for the invite. I have to go get some stuff done now, but will look for you in chat, to say hello.

I LOVE dogs... we just got a new little Labbygirl puppy, we named her Jetta. She is little sister to big bro Tucker, he is a four year old Labby.

Pets are awesome! Thanks again for the warm welcome. I look forward to talking to you again. :)

Hi Kelly and welcome to NeuroTalk! My name is Kelly, too! I'm glad you joined us here although not for the reasons you listed. It's always scary at first when you're dx with a disease.....once the newness wears off it's a little easier to get on with things. I have MS and remember how hard it was to adjust to that fact. Hope to see you around the forums!
