Today I thought of you...
 

I stand here alone there is no one else in sight,
I came to tell you what has come to light.
I can't stay long today, you know its close to night,
I never liked driving late because of bad eyesight.

I just came by today, a few things to say.
I thought of you and often have since you went away.
I once asked why you did such thing on that day,
I now just visit and accept that here you lay.

I remember it like yesterday, though its been sometime.
I was listening very early in the morn about the news of a crime.
I quickly stopped and answered the doorbell's chime.
I heard him say that you went quickly by the clock's time.

Who, I asked, went quickly in the night.
I surely didn't hear his words right,
I looked at the clock, it was early light.
My friend told me your light was no longer bright.

I said, how do you know, you're here.
My friend said, I know you loved him dear.
He is gone, he is home, and we need to go, now.

I thought of you today,
I miss you I came to say.
I must go now,
tis a sad ending to this day.

I thought of you today, and
I will come again this way.
I have no choice since here you lay.
