Do all posts have to be approved, or just for a little while?
 

Hi, =)

I am new here. When I post, I get a message that my post will be reviewed by a moderator and then approved (if approvable).

I was wondering if that is only in the beginning, when an account is new, until a certain post count is reached, or are all posts always "first reviewed and approved" prior to posting on the boards.

I was just wondering bc of being in a conversation, about how long it takes for others to "see" my posts. No biggie, thanks for any answer. Have a great day. =)

It's just a certain number of posts. It keeps the forum free of spam.

the extra work it is for the staff..does protect us from the vile porn spam that comes around!

I always feel revolted by that porn stuff...some of the recent at OBT was as low as they come! (kiddie porn even).

Also the other thing I fear are the blind links that say "click here" that spammers sometimes insert into their posts.
If you "click here" you may be ruined, hijacked or whatever.

So thank you to all the staff here for making this place so pleasant AND safe!

First we got the help from Doc, so that none of those type of posts would show to members. But boy howdy...did it burn the eyeballs of the Mods who had to check the posts. :yikes:

Now we have filters, so they don't even get that far.

Pretty darn awesome.
