I am Sad

I heard today that one of the reasons why it took my husband so long to sign the paper work is because he was trying to save his dying cat. I lived with that cat for over 12 years and if something did happen to it I would be sad. I am sad now just thinking about it.

((((((Fudd)))))),

I know, honey http://chocolate-moose.p5.org.uk/MIN...bears-mini.gif

My ex-husband had the same reaction when he heard about my cat, Fluffy. I got Fluffy when he was 5 weeks old at the ASPCA. I had him put down one week before his 22nd birthday (one week before Christmas) years and years ago when my EX was still alive.

EX actually did NOT like cats at all. UNTIL, he met Fluffy. He was one of the few people that Fluffy "liked". Fluffy used to sit in his lap while he watched TV. He actually learned to like cats because of Fluffy.

We forget when we get a divorce how much history -- how much 'in common' -- we give up. The history -- the 'in-common' -- is still there, but we don't SHARE it any more.

I truly hope that WE, as a society, teach our children -- the next children -- how to CARE for each other, how to TREAT each other, how to BE MARRIED, and SHARE, and CARE. Until then, the best "solution" we have for: not being cared about or being treated badly/dangerously is divorce.

There's nothing wrong with feeling HURT. It's another ending in your life -- at a time when you're already super-fragile. It doesn't mean that the divorce is a bad decision. It just means that EVERYTHING that you and he shared will come to an end in one way or another. AND, you have to adjust to all those endings.

Then you go on to make NEW BEGINNINGS.

BIG HUGS. I'll saw a quiet prayer tonight for your fur-baby.

*hugs* I hope things get better for you soon! I know how hard it is to loose a cat! I have lost several of my own. It will be ok! God will take better care of the cat and there will be no more suffering! I hope peace and happiness comes to you soon! *hugs*

Thank you all,

Barb, I never looked at divorce in the way you put it. Giving up the history, the in-common. I do believe it's going to be awhile to adjust.

Sorry for th loss

It is so sad to lose a pet, and the timing was so bad too.
Our Stingray was 22 last year nothing but bones left when he passed away. I miss him.
There is a pet prayer someone gave me, I think the vets office mailed a card with it in too and was a great help. I wish I could find it now for you.
My love,
Di

Dear Befuddled,
You are still grieving...the loss of the future with him..the dream of a perfect marriage...it is all sad.
YOu deserve to be treated well and not abused and to be happy.
YOu are a stong person and are headed in just the direction you need to be heading.
keep on keepin on...

The loss of a pet is awful, it is part of the family. I know how hard it can be.
Being sad is grieving and that's what you need to do for now.

There is a beautiful poem at Rainbow Bridge, I will find it now.

Hugs, Nikko

Thanks all again,

Di, that was sweet of the Vet.

Nikko, that would be so very kind of you to find the poem.
