Amazing discovery!!!

I AM SO EXCITED! Sorry about the caps. I'm just very excited. Here's the story. I have a severe case of bipolar disorder type I, and my doctor and I recently decided the best treatment for me would be to go off of my bipolar meds (long story), and instead approach the illness with good diet, exercise, sleep, etc. So, amazingly, when I started eating well, my PAIN DISAPPEARED! It was amazing. I didn't even need my lyrica! I've never gone so many days without pain. I went for "long" walks with my dog, I stood for more than a minute at a time, I stopped thinking peripheralneuropathyperipheralneuropathy constantly. :) Then, yesterday, I ate a McFlurry (yum) and what do you know? That night, the pain came back big time and I needed to take an oxycodone. So that's my discovery! Sugar=pain for me. I know I'm prediabetic and I have to wonder if it isn't perhaps partly the cause of my "idiopathic" PN, despite my doctor's assertions that it's not. Yay I figured something out!!!!

Yes, prediabetes is a cause of PN, there are many threads on that here on the forum.

I have tried a supplement, d chiro inositol, it avoids insulin resistance. It is a bit expensive but it has been great for me. Perhaps you could try it too, besides diet and exercise. Good luck!

Yes....I also am prediabetic, and I do believe that sugar does fire my nerves up big time.

I have found using prue honey instead of sugar has benifited my system, being prediabetic I usually test 2-3 times a week in the morning with the BS range 90-110 whereas it use to be 105-125. Don't be like a bear when using honey
