Diet
Hi Folks,
I hope these lines find you ALL to the path of wellness. My husband is Jewish, he has only had a toothache in his life. He was raised VERY orthodox. ( They even have 2 dishwashers) He 100% believes in the Kosher laws. Here is a bit about it. http://www.jewfaq.org/kashrut.htm I believe in Jesus myself, but I believe their is something to be said by keeping Kosher. Which I haven't always followed, but am a believer in it today. The food is very inspected. Hugs, Roz |
Dear Roz,
Thanks for this link. I think the diet of every culture is very interesting. Where ever I travel I always made it a point to find the local markets to learn more about the people, their culture and most importantly their cuisine. It has lead me to many interesting and delicious discoveries over the years. I don't know a lot about kosher food but do think there is a lot to be said about the laws governing the strict processing especially with meats. Just last year here in Canada there was listeria bacteria outbreak from a major meat processor and it killed 19 people, making hundreds of others very seriously ill. It was a real tragedy. I have stopped eating processed meat since then, but not just because of that, I also think it important to get away from all the chemicals that they add to meats particularly processed meats. While I'm not ready to give up meat completely I have switched to organic meats (in moderation cause it it is so much more expensive), it is much more flavorful than standard grocery store meats. Perhaps I need to find a local kosher butcher too. Thanks for this. MsL |

I am not Jewish, I don't have Listerosis, I am not from Canada, I eat meat (not kosher) and did'nt get diagnosed with CRPS till I had shoulder surgery. I am not sure how this thread relates.... |
Hi Dublious,
You don't have to be Jewish to eat some Kosher. Like I just found out I am low in Vitamin B, I was raised a vegetarian. But I need to add more protein into my diet. But their is no way I would eat pork due to this Video. http://media2.foxnews.com/112008/worm_tumor_700.wmv |
Myers Cocktails
Hi Roz,
Just wanted to share a little something I recently learned about. In naturopathic medicine they sometimes do I.V. vitamin treatments called Myers Cocktails. Many who suffer with chronic pain like Fibromyalgia have benefited from these. I know that I.V.'s can be of concern for RSD sufferers (something important to be considered), but since Sarah has had no prior problems with I.V.'s we thought it was worth trying. She had her first treatment yesterday and definitely felt that it had helped her to feel better. From what I have read, it is good to receive the initial treatments close together with the hopes of tapering back with improvement. Thought you might want to check it out. Have a wonderful day!! I am at a stage in my recovery from my CRPS that I am exploring all avenues of staying healthy in an effort to remain pain free. I want to do everything I possibly can to improve my bodies ability to keep the pain signals from firing on all cylinders again. I have chosen to do so by changing my lifestyle habits and one aspect of that is a chemical free diet (as much as possible). Roz's post spoke to me at this stage of my recovery. CRPS affects many types of people, it doesn't matter what religion or country you come from but your diet choices can make a difference on your overall state of health and that relates to CRPS. I too was diagnosed with CRPS following surgery and I often wonder what predisposed me to getting CRPS when so many others with the same surgery recovered without any complications. One does not have to relate to everything posted on this forum. There are many post here that I simply don't participate in because I don't feel it has any bearing on my relationship with CRPS. Just pass on by if you don't see the connection MsL |
yes, and again I would like to make the point that not everyone is ill for the same reasons nor responds the same to treatments.
if members dont feel a specific thread relates to them, please rather move on to something that does and allow everyone freedom to post of their own experiences. You dont have to see the relevance...but others well may, and be helped by the posting thanks |
