Hi guys my neck feels bit tingling and back of my neck feels and weak

Sorry for long story but here is my story guys....
just to give my medical history
20 years old
recently taken blood test
and results are healthy:D

Well I've been suffering from anxiety attack from panic attack, and by quitting cigarette, went through depersonalization, depression but i got rid of those by alot..
anyhow one day about a month ago I got a big stress attack(now i think of it, it was no big deal at all) but at the time I was really stressed and was irritated by my anxiety attacks
well after the super stress
next day my head just felt wobbly...dizzy..lightheaded and i had a tingling sensation in back of my neck...well so i disregarded it but it was still there...
so went to my doctor and he said its probably from stress...I was like okay...but as an anxiety patient we get ALOT of second thought so more i thought about this my neck became more TINGLING and I got a panic attack thinking I was about to get a stroke, but obviously I did not but it sure seemed like one( if that is how it suppose to feel)...well so I went to my relative who is a acupuncture and i got some shots than week later it was gone with my anxiety problems it was all gone...finally i was free from my symptons...(For 2 weeks my neck never bothered me)

Well...I got stupid because i was happy that i was out of my neck problem and anxiety so i got drunk few days later..
And guess what the next day of heavy drinking my anxiety came back...so for about a week i suffered anxiety symptom again and i got really stressed and next day my neck symptom came back feeling tingling in back of my neck and wobbly so beginning another cycle i got worried again and start having severe anxiety attack but since i;m so used to it i'm so immune to it...

so week and half has passed although my neck does feel a bit better I am still thinking too much about it......

to summarize
First time this happened:
Tingling sensation in back of my Neck, lightheaded, dizzy sometimes, head feels heavy

Second time this happened:
Tingling sensation in back of my Neck, head feels heavy

Both happened after severe combination of anxiety and stress and my symptoms lasted 2 weeks and was gone for 2 weeks with acupuncture treatments, but 2 weeks later it came back again when i got another severe stress + anxiety the very next day

Guys I know this is very long...but it's irritating thank you guys....

Are your hands, fingers or arms affected at all?
Any kind of repetitive strain injuries ever?

Well when I put pressure on my neck ( the muscle where you check your Pulse in your neck) there is a bit of pain

tingling feelings:
no just my back of my neck (Luckly)
Well the tingling feeling reduced alot but whenever i get anxiety attakcs( scared from this sympton) maybe placebo but it feels tickly and tingling which becomes annoying and irritating and i start to get scared all over again

Hi,

sorry you're struggling with anxiety at such a young age. I have bouts of that and it will take you under if you let it. breathing and relaxation techniques help that. they have some Rxs for anxiety. Be careful not to overstate your symptoms to a doctor. they may try too hard and give you something too strong.

could you be hyperventilating. if so, keep a small, brown paper bag handy and try breathing into it when this anxiety/tingling episodes starts to happen.

You're too young not to get control of this problem.

about your neck, I check my pulse in the front. the muscles in the front of your neck would be scalenes. They're buggers to deal with. The back of your neck could be cervical spine problems. Although your nerves can cause autonomic changes in your body. Get control if you can.

Hope you find peace in your life. :)

I was thinking also have they done any xray or MRI of your neck?
just to check it?
It might be something to look into , just for your own peace of mind.

Have you ever had any injury to the head or neck?
Or any history of early arthritis in the family?

yoga to help spine

child's pose - go to this anytime the other poses seem too hard.

http://yoga.about.com/od/yogaposes/a/childspose.htm

uttanasana standing forward bend - if like me need to bend the knees more

http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/478

also cat & cow - alternate these

http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/2468

http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/2467

from halfway between cat & cow. lift opposite leg and arm and hold them parallel to floor. can't find a picture of this. the foot should be flexed. then do the other arm & leg.

be sure to breathe & don't do anything that hurts.

I never had injuries
but being a semi computer game addict my posters have been really bad for 5 years ( Quit gaming couple months ago )
for example my left arm would stretch far into the keyboard while my upper body stand still....
The MRI and x-ray I will look into it, perhaps maybe I should visit a chiropractor?
But this weekend I am going to visit my acupuncture relative, what he is telling me is that the stress and anxiety is the main reason he said he seen similar symptoms in his patients and it lasts for about 2 weeks
thank you for your reply again :)

Anxiety and tingling in the back of the neck

Dear Anxiety Prone and Neck Tingler,

I am new on this site so I am just going to put a note here.

One thing to think about: psychiatrists and neurologists do not know the cause of one disease they treat. Discouraging, but that is quite true. So, you have a psychological problem and a neurological problem, but it you think about it both "what is in your brain" and in your "peripheral nerves" are both made of nerve tissue. If "something" was systemically bothering your nerve tissue it may cause tingling/numbness/pain in the nerves of your "outside" body and mental functioning abnormalities from inside your skull: where your brain is located.

Questions: have you had any sense of numbness of the hands or tingling of them, including the fingers. Have you developed a "numb arm" after sleeping on your shoulder at night? Do you get numbness or tingling in the hands/fingers when driving? Have you had low-back pain or sciatica? Do you have red palms? Red bottoms of the feet? *edit*

There are a billion blood tests so if you had a few and they came back normal that might not mean much.

Have you had a respiratory infection, ear infection, tonsillitis, periodontal infection, lately. Sore throat lately, like within a number of months.

What kinds of problems do your immediate family members have *edit*?

Where did you grow-up?

What other kinds of medical problems have you had, acne, skin problems, whatever?

O.K., the ball is in your court.

Yours,

Norsk10 (ret. doc)
