A very special story to share with you
 

A friend from Latitudes has been dealing with an issue that I know will touch all of us here too, and so I want to share it with you :)

This brought tears to my eyes!!!! I can so relate to what this lady went through. Scott has a BEAUTIFUL singing voice, and in 8th grade won the award for best male vocalist in the choir. Before he got so involved in muisc, he auditioned for a solo in the musical "CATS" at his school. Of course everybody was blown away by his voice, but the issue of his Tics came up. As it turned out He got the part he auditioned for and has been singing ever since. :D
Hes become a member of the worship team at church in our youth group, and is very active in vocal music at the High School where he goes. I cant hardly wait for the Christmas concert this year... Last years was awesome.

It is always inspiring..

only not as extreme.

It also reminds me of a wonderful movie that I dearly love, and which has
this element in it. Simon Birch-- not TS but other issues. It is about two boys who are best friends, one with physical disablilities and the other with unfortunate social challenges.

It is a great movie to share with your kids...It touched my son to tears (and me too, a 10 hanky movie at the end). It is about being different, about faith, and overcoming obstacles and discrimination and finding your path. There is humor and warmth in it too.

I have seen Simon Birch (as has my son too) and it is one very very special movie!

What a touching story. I can relate to how he was pending exclusion from the concert. I have been in a similar position. I was so glad to hear that he got the part and did great! It doesn't matter what defines you as a person whether it be TS or any other type of illness, we all deserve to be treated equally and it's sad how sometimes that's not the case. :)
