Hi Tara and welcome to Neuro Talk. Here is the link to our Bipolar Forum..http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum38.html
We also have a sister forum Psych Central...http://forums.psychcentral.com/ |
Hey Tara,
First of all, a hug for you  Welcome !! Hum, well, first of all, you can come here and chat when you start to feel depressed... Tell me about it !!!! Depression affects me too !  |
I'm also PTSD, Major Depression, Borderline PD. I've gone through "talk therapy" and if you find the right therapist, it can make a huge difference. Have you tried therapy? Is it available to you? I am also on anti depressants. I hope you are too. If not, get on some, quick! Depression is nothing to be ignored!
There is also a book that I found helpful. But like anything, books don't work for everyone. I found this book at exactly the right time in my life and it helped change my perspective. I know its hard when you're depressed, but if it happens to you everyday, there is an element of "habit" involved. Try changing your routine. If you sit around your empty house and miss him, maybe instead, you could take a walk, or drive to the park, take that time to work on a hobby (do you paint? draw? crochet? anything you want to try to do?). Good luck. And remember Life is not a road, but a journey. |
I agree with Alfee, you might visit the Bipolar forum at NT. There are many kind folks there who suffer and have much information about the topic.
From what I understand, medication and therapy can be very helpful. You might talk with a physician about medication and if you are already on medication, about making a change. See if you can talk with a therapist about how you feel. If you go weekly to the therapist or at least every other week, that would also help you create a plan to work on and help with loneliness as well. Additionally, you might consider some sort of hobby to participate in while your husband is away at work. Is there something to do that you enjoy? You might double check with your husband that it would not be too costly, etc. and verify the details, but certainly consider something to do that would be fun and pass the time. |
