Murphy Strikes Again!!

So we are supposed to leave on Friday for Ky to go visit the in laws and my future stepdaughter...who I love to death! And wouldn't you know my DD comes back from her dad's house this weekend with a runny nose and sneezing and coughing.

Well at 4 AM this morning I get a wake up call from the 4 yr old in my bedroom screaming at me that her tummy hurts. So I get up and check her out. Sure enough she has a fever and a runny nose and coughy achey stuffy head sore throat sneezing and overall yuckiness that if she were older would warrant cracking open a bottle of nyquil. But seeing as she is 4, we are limited to children's tylenol and children's sudafed.

Which leaves her wide awake and we have been on the sofa watching movies since 5 this morning. Suspecting she has the flu I really don't think I will be putting her in a car for a 6 hour trip on Friday. I am taking her into her Ped tomorrow morning just be safe I finally got her fever down.

Now the fiance is mad at me because I don't think her and I are going which means he is making the trip alone and will be gone for a week. Like I went out and searched for sick kids to let her play with so I can get out of going to KY!!

I give up. I am tired I am achey and I think I am catching whatever she has. (it's mommy syndrome) we can't stand for our kids to be miserable alone.

Woman, stay away from me!

Seriously, you can all get it and kick it before Friday, think positively, it's not that long of a trip. :)

I agree with the two responses.....kids are amazingly resilient and bounce back quickly. Mine could be bedridden in the A.M. and outside playing by 4 PM. By Friday she'll never even remember being sick!

So sorry your DD is sick and you are coming down with it too. Here's to a speedy recovery by Friday!

Hope you both recover and can make the trip. Sure seems like a lot of ''crud'' is going around. Take care and feel better sooooon.

I'm going to Lexington Ky Saturday. I'll say hi!!! I'm sorry that wasn't very nice. Good luck Kids are very reseilant (SP?) and she might be better on Friday and we might pass on the road and wave.

I am filing a class action law suit against sir murphy seeing as his laws are inhumane and downright cruel.

So we went to the doc today and sure enough we both have the flu. The funny part is DD got a flu shot not too long ago. Doc tried to give us both Tamiflu. I have been given this 3 times and 3 times I have ended up with bronchitis on top of the flu.

So I gave DD her first dose and 45 minutes later she was redecorating my bedroom with the soup she had for lunch. Poor thing is miserable. And it just wouldn't feel like a real fam if we didn't share it with the fiance. Who has now called and told his family we might be coming Sunday.
