Mucle control question

Hi everyone! I'm new here; I'm 21 and have had an autoimmune disease for about 3 years although we're still not sure what exactly. I have arthritis (mainly in my hands, knees and hips), Raynauds, and a gluten sensitivity.

My questions stems from a little oddity that happened the other day. I was sitting in front of the computer at my desk with my right elbow resting on the desk and my right hand on the mouse. I started to grab for a pen but it was as if the brain signals I knew I was sending weren't being totally received by my arm. It wasn't totally dead, but I had to really struggle for a few seconds, concentrating really hard on that single action, to get my arm to move towards the pen.

After those few seconds it was like I had regained control and haven't had an issue with it since. I'm currently away at college, but will be going back home and in to see my rheumatologist in two weeks for spring break. However, its been in the back of my mind for a while and I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts or past experiences with something similar.

Thanks in advance for all your help :)
