Sam's club, Costco are the best bets.
That is where I shop for bulk nuts. |
If it's not too much trouble Mrs. D...can you post the name again (here) of those dusted cocoa almonds that you like? :o

They are on Amazon.com too. (for double what I paid for mine) SAM's club has them for 9 something-- a huge jug, which I am almost done with. 38 ounces! The jug itself is really nice if you save things like this. It is heavy duty and will hold my crystals and stones! ;) Not all SAM's have them yet. The two closest stores to me, one had them, the other not. I really like them. |
oh and one more thing, almonds are said to have 20% 25 % daily value magnesium packed in a handful, but some almond packages i see don't even list that in their daily value vitamins section. only having iron and calcium listed, is this a mistake or did they not add the magnesium? help?

The things listed on labels are mandated by the FDA.
Other stuff is not included. That nutrition label is a "legal" type document. You can find extra nutritional information at http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/n...roducts/3085/2 You have to watch "type" and quantities on that site. They don't have whole unsalted there. The book I use says 270 mg magnesium for 3 oz of whole unsalted unroasted. But on the whole, Nutritiondata.com is a good resource. |

decisions were made as to which nutrients would be required. People can have iron overload, or be deficient in iron commonly. So that one is required. Same for calcium, since osteoporosis is a huge problem in US. Remember, a COMMITTEE designed that label. We are lucky to have that! IMO. :p |
Do you have trader joes by you they sell items like this for cheaper? I have been wanting to try almond butter sorry I know it is off topic a little
|
I love Walmart's smoked almonds, and they are cheaper than either of two local supermarkets -- and better tasting.
