Footloose and Moving Out!

Jim and I are going to see Footloose this month and Moving Out in April. I am stoked for sure! The last musical we saw was Annie Get Your Gun and it was on a spinning stage. I almost wish we had got the 8pm show for Footloose though. They are having a Footloose prom after the show. How cool would that be?

What's the best musical you've seen? Jim and I are always looking for good ones to check out. Someday I hope to see Grease.

I haven't been to any musicals lately but let me just tell you that your thread title had me worried for a minute!! I saw it was you that started the thread and I wondered where you were moving to!! :o

That's great, Sandy! Nothing like a good musical to lift your spirits!

I love musicals! DH and I really don't have many things in common that we enjoy, but Musicals are the exception. I have a whole shopping bag full of programs from plays.

Best musical I've seen? Probably West Side Story. There was a professional cast that came to Utah that was absolutely electrifying!

But then there was Romeo and Juliet (with Verde's music) that was fabulous.

And I really enjoyed On Your Toes and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, too.

I'm undecided.

No...wait! Maybe I'm not... :Crazy 2:

Hope you and Jim have a wonderful time. We'll be watching for your reviews. :)

I love musicals. The last one I went to was Mama Mia with my two girl friends and it was fantastic. My daughter is a fan of musicals too and she has outgrown the children theatres. I can't afford to take her to the "big shows" so we hit the high school shows. Last we saw were Wizard of Oz, Annie and Grease. I enjoyed those shows even though they don't have the same flare as the professional ones. I can't wait to take her to her first big show!

I hope you and Jim enjoy the shows!

Best musical I have seen in a very long time is "Wicked." We bought tickets and waited 7 months, best seats though and worth the wait.

I HIGHLY recommend that one. VERY funny and clever. We are going to splurge and see it again, it is coming in the Spring. We bought tickets already.

I also loved "Phantom of the Opera." Saw that twice. First time, I did not know the words to the music so it was hard to really understand. We got the CD. The stage for Phantom was amazing, we saw it in L.A. and the set was permanent so they had all the illusions going.

Have fun! "Footloose" would be a blast to see.

Musicals

I am very lucky to live close to NYC and my DD and I love musicals!!
We have been going since she was in 7th grade!!
She just counted and she has seen 17 shows. [She is not spoiled or anything!!]

My personal favorites are Wicked, Phantom, Rent, and Little Shop of Horrors
Lion King was amazing also!

The Officers Wives club used to take a bus to NYC every month and that is how I managed to see so many shows. I rarely paid full price either!! That monthly trip was my 'mental' health day.

Now it is not as easy for me to trek around the city but DD is an expert at hailing cabs. Probably doesn't hurt that she is a beautiful 24 year old!!

I am waiting until our Monday snow storm clears and the weather warms up a little and we are going to see West Side Story!

That's cool, Sandy! Hope you and Jim have a great time. I love, love, love musicals, but DH doesn't. He'd rather watch a ''shoot em up'' or something heavy.

I loved Grease, Oklahoma (oldie), but would like to see Wicked.

We'll expect your reviews!!!

I would love to see Wicked but Jim and I never bought the tickets. I'll have to see where it's at and maybe make a weekend trip out of it. How dare me not seeing that show since Wizard of Oz was my favorite childhood movie.

Grease is a bucket list musical I must see. If it comes to Chicago I am so there! I know all the songs, trivia and dances! lol

I'll give reviews after the 21st on Footloose. Moving Out is April 18th.

We saw Annie Get Your Gun at the Linconshire and the stage spun around so everyone got a great view of the show. Very entertaining and fun to see. We're seeing Footloose and Moving Out at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora.

Little Shop of Horrors is another fun one. So is Sweeney Todd.

But I should NOT have forgotten to mention Guys 'n Dolls! Love that one!

Yes, Wicked is coming to Salt Lake City soon, and I have definitely got to go!

Five years ago I took my little grandson to see Annie Get Your Gun because we were always singing, "Anything You Can Do (I can do better)." He was 5 or 6 and really enjoyed it, but when Our song came at the very end, he fell asleep and Nothing could wake him!

I'm totally jealous about Movin' Out, that's right after Wicked on my fantasy Broadway list. If you get a chance to see Avenue Q, I highly recommend it, you will laugh your butt off for all the wrong reasons.

Les Miserables is amazing; I got to see Phantom at the customized Pantages (now the Canon) in Toronto which was just remarkable; loved loved loved Avenue Q, it's absolutely hysterical and you sing the songs for weeks afterward; Oh! I loved A Chorus Line and of course, Rent; saw They're Playing Our Song at the Fox and Lucy Ball Jr. was kind of a letdown; Porgy & Bess; Pajama Game (blech)... I'm sure there are more. Wow, I guess I do love musicals.

In high school I was in Guys & Dolls, Music Man, Oklahoma!, and Anything Goes.
