It's not the Sears Tower anymore
 

Sears Tower, the name given from the start has been renamed the Willis Tower. They bought the tower and decided to change the name.

Is there nothing sacred anymore? :(

They can "change" the name, but it will always be the Sears Tower.

That's true. Kind of like when they changed Cominsky Park to US Cellular. I will always call it Cominsky. Now if they ever change Wrigley I am done. lol

Everyone knows that it's just so people can say, "Whatchu talkin'bout? The Willis?"

It's the nature of our culture now...nothing is permanent...it always goes the way the highest bidder wants it to...

This reminds me.... 5/3 Bank helped 'my' city build a new baseball field so guess what those ppl did? Yes...it was named "5/3 Field". Yuk They of coarse have a big 'ad' going round & round high above the entrance, with the name.

that like the titans football field was adephia and now its LP field ..

They changed The Mark of the Quad Cities to The I Wireless Center a few yrs ago and I will never call it anything, but The Mark. (huge concert center) Money talks!
