Ssdi backpay

Does anyone know when collecting LTD benefits and you are approved for SSDI how they determine what your LTD provider receives? For example, I collect $2916 a month on LTD benefits this amount does not include credit for my dependent children. I spoke with Allsup today and they will be including my dependent children so if approved my benefits will include money for them. My question is this if my LTD provider total benefits paid to me end up being lets say $2916 for 2 years - $69,984 and my retro SSDI benefits exceed this amount do they get to keep the total amount or will the difference be sent to me? Allsup could not answer this question.

Thanks

My LTD provider sent me an invoice for all benefits paid and off-set by SSD. When I got my retro SSD I then had to cut a check to my LTD provider for what they would have off-set for that period. For some reason no one ever wants to tell you exact figures or procedures for refunding the offsets . . . probably because they don't like doing the math, or they can't be exact in the figures.

Oh okay so the check from social security is not sent to the attorney or advocate in my case Allsup it comes to you and then you send payment to your LTD provider.

Sounds good to me...

Thanks
