First time at Gyno...

Hi girls,

Im 26 and beleive it or not, Ive never been to the gynecologist...

The last 2 days, my uterus has been hurting like hell... the ache goes even to my back... :( So, I think I will need to visit it soon (hopefully next week).

Im nervous... I dont want to...

How was your first time ??? Is it very unconfortable ??? :o

Thanks for sharing with me !

Hi Blue, First of all, don't worry. It is Not pleasant but NOT Painful...I'm old now, almost 50:eek: I still hate going, I avoid it at all costs..I even went 21 years without going:D STUPID I know....But it's like going to the dentist, as far as the intimidating part goes...:o Your GYN if she/he is good, will make you feel as comfy as possible. Personally, I still don't know anyone who Wants, or Likes going....just like any exam I guess.

Hope I didn't make things worse. If you are experiencing pain you MUST go & make sure your baby maker is in tip top shape! :D

My daughter is about your age, I'm guessing...She is one of those unlucky ones who always has problems & has to go. She doesn't even mind anymore.

Good luck, my prayers are with you & everything will be just fine!

Oh, how I remember that first trip?! I was just like you. I kinda wished they had a paper bag there for me to put over my head at the same time as I took off my clothes, and I was already married!

I saw a list of "why's" in a joke once, and one of them was "why does your gyno leave the room while you undress?" Think of the that and smile to yourself, to keep your mind off the inevitable.

As gardengrl already said, it doesn't hurt but it sure is uncomfortable, and if you're like me, then embarrasing as well. :o

The good thing is that you may get an answer to your problem and with that often comes a cure. It may be something as simple as a retroverted uterus, which is fairly common and means that the womb tilts backwards towards the spinal column. I had that myself for as long as way back to that first appointment, until I had a hysterectomy in my mid thirties.

Good luck with your appointment, and let us know how you get on.

Thanks Koala !!!

Paper bag... yeah ! I will take one ! Because I tend to turn red when embarassed :p

:paperbag: <--- Me at gyno ! :)

If this helps ease you at all -- my gyno is my favorite doctor out of all of them. Relax, you'll be fine. Try not let any embarrassment keep you from telling the doctor any problems you are having. Good luck at the appointment.
