I've got a buzzing in one ear.

Have any of you got a buzzing in your ears, possibly from medication. I have a buzzing in my left ear that get's loud at times. Sometime it quiets down. It's buzzing right now. It could be a rare side affect from the seroquel.

I've removed ticks that have left bumps where they where. It could be from Lymes disease. It came on suddenly. When I press on my scalp just above my left ear,the nose gets louder. Someone told me that it's not tinnitus when you press on your scalp, and it gets louder.

Do you think I'm going to croak? LOL Just kidding. I do have a ringing in my ear though. I can put my hand over that ear,and I still hear it buzzing.

I hope that it goes away, and isn't the medication. BF:Scratch-Head:

Hi, Friend,
This site lists "ringing" in the ear (tinnitus) as a rare side effect of Seroquel.

http://www.essortment.com/articles/s...cts_104381.htm

I don't know anything about pressing on the your scalp to determine if it is tinnitus.

Call a pharmacist.
My friend used to call the drug company when she got a weird side effect that the dr said didn't exist.
She had a lot of phone patience.
Maybe it is not the Seroquel but something else you are taking.

I'm hoping it will go away.
Some people think that B vitamins can help with ear health -- find a health care professional who knows something about b vits maybe.

Hi there,

Sorry i could not reply sooner. have been on emmm, 'hiatus' for a week, (i.e. voluntary suspension - so could not post)

Sooo, how goes with the buzzing ear?

Have you had your blood pressure checked? that can cause buzzing in the ear too. Many pharmacies have free bp and pulse rate machines. you should do the check when the ear is buzzing.

Perhaps it has passed. It can happen for all sorts of reasons, and often just simple ones... sinus blockage due to allergies etc. But if it persists you should check with your doc, regardless.

take care

Thank you waves

I had my BP checked, and it was OK. The doctor flushed out my ear,and removed a piece of hair that was touching my eardrum. My ear will buzz one,or two days, and stop one day,and then it will buzz a couple of days in a rowe. Tonight it's not buzzing,or ringing to bad.

It might be a side affect of several medications. The seroquel was the last medication that has been perscribed to me. As they have been increasing the dose of it,I've noticed this ringing in my ear two thirds,or three quarters of the time. Dang! It's annoying.

Thanks for careing. It's probably the medications, dosages,or interations,or all of the above. BF:hug::hug:

My ear hasn't buzzed,or rang in two days. I cut back on the seroquel a little. That may be what it was. BF:hug::hug:

That sounds a bit annoying to get ringing in your ear :( Did it go away yet? I hate Ticks. I have never had any on me before. They sounds like a pain as well. I also have had ringing in my ears. especially when I am stressed. But other than that. I have been well. Did you talk to your doctor?

Hello Fevah.

I talked to a Doctor, and he said that he would have to do Blood work to find out if it's lymes disease. I don't have the money for the blood work.

I use to go out to the creek, and to a lake alot when I was a kid. I would get ticks on me,and get them off when I got home.

Ticks these days, especially out here where there are alot of deer, are different then when I was a kid. The last two ticks that I pulled off of me left little bumps. I was careful when I pulled them off also. I've been looking for arrow heads out here, and I've found several. Unfortunately,I've found several ticks on me after going out in the woods.

It might be the medication combination that I'm taking. My left ear is ringing just a little right now. Some days my ear doesn't ring. Some days that ear is ringing real loud, and I cannot do anything about it. I can put my hand over my ear,and It doesn't matter. The ringing can be loud with my hand over that ear.

I don't have a loss of hearing, just this ringing,or buzzing. If I press the area just above my ear,the ringing gets louder. The ringing in my ear has only rung in the last two months. BF:hug::hug:

Brokenfriend

If you develop other symptoms please figure out a way to get the blood
work done. Maybe with some of the test for your medication. I know
it is hard, but lyme disease isn't something to mess with.

Sending some hugs.

Donna

Thank you Dmom3005

I have had blood work done at this mental health clinic, and they sent it out of state. The blood work showed how the Seroquel is affecting my body. It was two sheets of paper showing most everything that my blood contained. Is that the same thing? I wonder if I can take it to the Doctor at the other clinic. BF:hug::hug:
