New here, really struggling

brief intro:
My daughter is 19 months old. I took her to a neurologist at 8 months old because she would not sit without support. He referred her to PT/OT. She has been doing both since 8 months old. Couldn't sit well unsupported until 10 months, no crawling until 17 months. Finally pulled to stand at 19 months with minimal "cruising" ability. Has low tone in trunk and lower extremities. She can use her medical walker with a lot of encouragement and assistance, but it is very difficult for her as her legs are quite weak. She has been seeing a physiatrist at Rehab Inst. of Chicago, who encourages us that at worst, she has mild CP with hypotonic features. We went back to the neuro Monday because she didn't pass the autism questionnaire given to her at her 18 mo. checkup. Neuro says, no autism, but he doesn't like how weak her proximal muscles are (i.e. hips, buttocks, lower trunk) so she had blood work today --CBC CMP CPK muscle aldolan (sp?). and Tomorrow she has an EMG of her legs.

?????'s::: What do I expect at this EMG tomorrow, and does anyone have any insight into what he's looking for? I am an RN, but quite bewildered by all this, since it's my child, and not a patient or someone else's child, if you know what I mean. I really have dismissed in my mind that she has DMD or any type of MD, but maybe I am dismissing all that too early? Help!
thanks,
Kathy
