Aloha...New here 3/27/09

Aloha,

I decided to join this community because after browsing a bit, enjoyed the different forums and info shared. I have RSD (2yrs) and always looking for new info.

Aikane means FRIEND in Hawaiian.

:Scratch-Head: How do I join a group, and where is the icon "join"???? Apologize if you c my posts in wrong places, learning the how to's and how to post, etc.

Little about me: Had a DVT (blood clot) from business travel that went undiagnosed for few months and now have nerve damage, valve damage and RSD. Had numerous problems with WC doc who didn't know what to do with worsening symptoms and wouldn't give me a dx bec actual clot was not seen on ultrasound. (Clots can be small and undetected on U/S, doesn't mean you don't have one). I am 42, mother of 5 (23, 22, 20, 17 and 9), I now only have the 2 youngest at home. Had no support from anyone, not even from husband. Had marriage issues before health issues and they made marriage worse. Separated few times, Last year, I shipped my bags and myself to Hawaii. This ended being the best "selfish thing" I did for my self because it had a positive impact on my health, etc. Husband after shock for my actions, had a wake up call, made changes; we both Listen and Learned and today, our marriage is on track and good. Returning to the mainland, has turned all good strides of my health downhill. More about me, c me on RSD forum.

Mahalo!! :Thanx:

Hi there and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when when you say you'd like to join a goup. At first I thought you meant a forum, but I see you've already posted in the RSD Forum, so that can't be it.

If you mean a social group and if it's not a private group, then I think it's just a matter of dropping by and saying hello.

Please explain what group you mean, and then hopefully we can help you better.

Hello AiKane and Welcome to Neurotalk!! You will meet many great people here who I am sure will be more than happy to help you in anyway they possibly can!!

I'm SO sorry to hear that you suffer from RSD and really hope things get better for you real soon!! I have RSD in both arms and my left leg - I developed it when I was 12 years old after I fell down some stairs and sprained my ankle and am now 14.

If you ever need anything, please know that I am here for you because I DO understand how hard and scary it can be at times dealing with such an awful condition!!!

Take care of yourself and I hope to see you around the forum more real soon!

Alison.
