Slow Cooker Recipes.

I don't know how this might translate to you all not in Australia, but I have an amazing slow cooker recipe for corned beef/silverside.

It's 1.5 Kilo (mine was 1.7 kilo) of lean corned silverside.
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
2 fresh mint sprigs
1 onion, peeled and studded with 4 cloves
1 carrot, peeled and cut up roughly into chunks
2 cups/500 ml water
6 peppercorns

So you put it all in the cooker on low for 10-12 hours. (or High setting for 6-7hrs)

I made a white onion sauce to go with it and steamed carrots, potatoes and beans.

YUM. The most tender silverside I've ever tasted

That sounds wonderful Lara.

I use my slow cooker all the time. Hubby and Lil'Monkey get home so late sometimes. It makes it easier to a pot of something, than to make dinner for lonley ole me, put away the mass amount of leftovers, just to get them all back hour3 hours later. Then clean up again.

I have even made a cake in mine. The trick to most of the desserts is to put paper towles under the lid, to catch the extra moisture, so you don't end up with puddings. lol.

I use my slow cooker all the time too. I have made a cake and even bread in it. There was a nice insert pan that I got which was made for it. Does a good job.

You also can use the appropriate metal coffee can and put a paper towel on it and it does the job I am told.

At any rate, I am very happy with mine and have had one for years.
