cold weather makes my pain worse

hi all,
we have just changed seasons here in south australia we are in Autumn and the weather is getting colder i am really hating it, my pain is so much more severe in this weather no matter how much meds i take it still really hurts i guess i just need to have a vent. i know everyone feels the same in the cold weather. i am now taking 2000mg of valproate a day and 60 mg of cymbalta and 100mg of seroquel for my pain nothing seems to help i also take capadex in between i feel pretty tired most of the time but the only thing the doc can give me is pain killers because i had bells palsy 3 years ago and they would risk paralysing me again, what a nightmare the last 3 years have been i wish it was all a bad dream but i know thats not true! The worst thing is the doctor told me when i got Bell's palsy i would be better in 3 -4 weeks well its now been 3 years and i have other conditions because of doctors make me really angry sometimes! i am grateful that i have a wonderful GP that is now helping me with my pain he really helps me alot more than any other doctor has he understands me unlike most other doctors that just give you medication and push you out the door! any way sorry for the long vent enough of my whinging!

Low pain wishes to all

Hey Stranger. nice to see you posting :) and good to know the doc is working with you, that is a plus!!

PLEASE, NEVER apologize for venting or being down right bloody angry as your dealing with this pain. they are natural emotions and feelings and we have every right to let it out acknowlege that those feelings are there inisde. feels and is good to let it out and vent.

In winter the cold gnaws on me too. I try to keep face warm, a face cover and warm/hot pad on my face helps. hot baths really make me feel less stressed and better in a way to. but there are those days...lots of em when not much helps and you are at battle with the ugly pain monster . thats wehn i puul up the covers and hide as much and for as long as I can inside .
sending you tons of low pain wishes and prayers for strength and comfort. Keeping you close in my thoughts.
PEACE
BMW

Cold weather Pain

Hey, nice to hear from you. The cold has really vexed me this winter too. I have a blanket that plugs into the car charger and is an electric blanket. So when I travel no matter how cold, I am toastly warm! I also have an electric blanket on my bed and for my couch. I also agree with the other post, nothing like a warm bath to ease winter's cold wrath. Stay warm and pain free.

Hello Melina. I don't have TN, although I did suffer one rather nasty bout as a symptom of the MS that afflicts me, but I saw your post and as you're a fellow Australian, I thought I'd drop by and say hello.

Hubby and I are presently living in the apple isle, and we've been here for 15 months now. Before that we were in NSW and QLD. My daughter lives in Canberra but she's been trying to get a transfer to Adelaide. When she moves there maybe you and I could meet for lunch one day when I go to visit.

Sounds like something nice to look forward to. :)
