daily headaches (need advice + help)

I have been suffering from daily headaches for many many years now. I recently had a brain scan and it was good results, I also had xray on my neck and it showed up artrites in the neck, Is it still possible that there could be something more serious wrong like a tumour of some type, is there any othe tests I could get, I take strong medication but feel I am becoming immune to it and I have been taking it so long now, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Daily headaches

What kind of doctor are you seeing? if you are not see a good neurologist, you should be. I had daily headaches for years and occassional migraines. I did not know my daily headaches were migraines. I tried massage therapy, chiropractic, new pillows, everything. I finally found a Doctor here in Pittsburgh who prescribed a daily treatment and a rescue drug for migraines. I feel like a new person.

Hi, Chelsea! It's nice to meet you! My oldest sister has the same problem that you do. She's had it forever, it seems. I'll ask her if she has any advice. In the meantime, we do have a "Headache" forum here on the site. I'll post the link for you. Hope you feel better. Good luck! :)

:)

Have you had your eyes checked? How about eye strain? I have headaches for many different reasons. Stress can cause headaches. Sinuses. Neck/cervical/cervicogenic headaches from cervical issues. Kids, family, job, allergies, caffeine intake, alcohol, smoking, not enough sleep, too much sleep, diet.

It's a relief to know you don't have anything on x-rays or scans. That's a big relief. And you also know by that, that you don't have tumors, MS or had a stroke. many things could have shown up as incidential findings, so be glad for that.

Sometimes when it's not the obvious, it's hard to pinpoint the culprit. Sometimes you may never know what triggers your headaches. Just pray you find successful treatment.

SandyJ,

I don't want to sound a simpleton.
I've had migraines and headaches of all kinds since first grade.

Go to the library, or Amazon, or Even Consumer Reports, (Where I got my first breakthrough headache book), and read.
You'd be surprised, at all the "little things" you can do, to prevent headaches.
And, like fires, prevention IS the best cure!

I'll just go with one here.
Diet.
I'd bet my life, that you like certain things, like Bacon, Hot dogs, Cheeses, Dairy, and, since my life is on the line, I can't stop!.........

Point is,
just your diet, can be a headache trigger.
Sugar, artificial sweeteners, diet this and that, All you need do, is think back 16 or so hours?
What did I eat?
Caffeine, nicotine, (those MUST be Eliminated, otherwise, no sorry feelings for ya!)
Of course, we don't want you to have any kind of headache, but, you must watch your "Triggers"!
If you don't, GOTCHA!
(DEEP DOWN INSIDE, somewhere, there's a tiny, teeny weeny voice, that says, "headache", when you imbibe, in whatever it is.....

And, this is only ONE Facet of a HEADACHE!

Get a good book!
(Amazon's great, because they have ratings).

Get ProActive!
I did,
and I now have so many less debilitating headaches!
(Mine, took a divorce), hah!

Hey.
It's not rocket science.

Find out what's hurting you.
Then,
Lose it!

Be well,
Pete
