It's been fun!

Well, it's been fun hanging around every day, but dh just got home, so back on the bus, as we used to say.

:D

He'll comandeer the pc and I won't be hanging around as much. Told him we have to get a wireless router so I can be online too.

;)

I miss you guys when I can't hang out all day!

Anyhoo, his interviews both went really well, and he feels like he has a good shot at one of those FL jobs. The one he really wanted may have been snagged though. Some guy - who is in the bridge dept - may have already snagged it at the last sec, even as they were interviewing. Not fair, but that's life. They'll still need someone to train for it, and someone for the job soon, so they may still hire for that though.

I just want to see him get one of the jobs in FL. If not he'll keep looking I guess. We need the insurance, you know?

Best of luck to you and DH :) I want to move to FL so badly! I hear you. I really hope the economy makes a big turn around.

AfterMyNap 04-10-2009 07:30 AM

Geez, Brain, I was so glad to see you around again! Get the router, they aren't even that much money anymore!

Here's hoping you're on your way to FL. :)

Good luck on the job, Cathy!

Ok, he might be a bridge tender. I'm the WRONG person to tell this to...

Is it a swing, lift, or bascule bridge? If a bascule - Rolling Scherzer, Strauss, Hopkins Frame, Chicago, multiple trunnion, or a goofy overhead counterweight type?

Actually, I have the Heavy Movable Structures society's list of almost all the drawbridges in the country. Which one is it? River? Intercoastal? If it's CSX, there's only a couple rails over the intercoastal in Florida that I know about.

See? Shouldn't have told me. I used to design draws in Florida. I'm still licensed in Florida.

Oh great.

Now Stumble Inn won't have a brain.

:p

Kitty 04-10-2009 09:38 AM

You scared me, Brain! I thought you were sayin' goodbye for good! That's not allowed here!

I hope the job and the move works out for ya'll. You'll have to stop in Georgia and visit me on your way to Florida. I think Momma lives even closer to Florida on the GA/FL line.

Keep us posted.....and tell DH that you're allowed a time slot on the computer each day to check in with us!!

Good luck Brain! I hope to see pics of your Florida garden soon! Just think of the flowering trees and plants you'll be able to grow! :)

Your post about bridges reminded me of my fear of bridges I had when I was a kid. One of them we had to cross in S. Illinois when we'd go back home to the farm to visit my Mom's relatives. It was nothing more than some thick boards thrown over a wide gap in the road with a creek running under it. You could hear the creaking and feel the car bouncing as you crossed. I always had terrors for a few minutes as we approached until after we were safely across. I drove my Mom back for a last visit about 15 years ago and it was still there.

It can't be there anymore, really it can't be. It's a yuppie country development now.

Get the router because we love having you around! They are way under $100 these days! We have a Linksys and love it. It hooks to our modem.

Hope your hubby gets the job!

He WILL get the job..He WILL get the job..
Practicing positive thinking, with my fingers crossed just in case..
I hope you get the router..We all enjoy your company!

(hanging o Cath's pantleg) NOOOOOO! Don't go!

Hope things work out for your DH's job hunt and yes, think about getting a router, so you can surf the net whenever you want to.

I miss you already. *dabbing eyes*
