Music Execs To Stage Benefit Show For Deb Flanagan

A number of music industry executives and artist are putting together a benefit for Deb Flanagan, a long-time music industry executive who has been diagnosed with ALS, which is more commonly known as “Lou Gehrig's Disease.”

A live performance will be held April 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Talking Stick Coffeehouse in Venice, Calif.

Due to ALS, Flanagan, a vibrant, active woman, "has lost many abilities of her body and is degenerating every day," writes Music Millennium owner Terry Currier in an e-mail to industry friends about the event. "Although Deb's laughter and smiles have not stopped," she requires professional full time assistance and care to meet her daily needs and is now being cared for at Marquis Care in Portland, Ore., with support of the Vital Life Foundation.

The benefit fundraiser is to assist in Flanagan's medical cost since she is only partially funded for health care, according to the e-mail.

The event will be presented by TK Promotions (promoter Toni Koch) and Warrior Girl Music (Gilli Moon), in association with the New Media Interchange. Performers include the Gilli Moon Band, Coco O'Connor, Christopher and Natasha Barran, Marian Call, Miri Hunter Haruach and Paul McCarty, a New Orleans raised/Los Angeles-based singer/composer.
